Last Night We May Have Died explores the human condition, using The Hollow Man as a metaphor to explore existential crisis, spiritual emptiness and a general sense of alienation. It depicts a group of people in a state of numbness, fatigue and disorientation in their daily lives and social norms. They are trapped and clueless, wandering through the vast expanse of white, hoping for guidance.
The show maintains the theatrical sense of distance while incorporating the rhythmic pacing of film. With 15 distinct chapters, each standing alone. During 14 brief blackout intervals, audience rely on sound cues to anticipate forthcoming scenes. However, the next moment, the visuals shatter their expectations, with sound guiding concrete actions.
On the vast white rectangular platform, a group of individuals wander aimlessly, directionless and weary, vacillating between progression and regression.The protagonist, a recent college graduate, seeks career guidance at a social service center due to uncertainty about his future path. His mentor suggests two options: data entry clerk and soldier. These choices diverge into two parallel timelines, where life seems eerily similar regardless of the path chosen.
